The sun shines and warms and lights us and we have no curiosity to know why this is so; but we ask the reason of all evil, of pain, and hunger, and mosquitoes and silly people. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson

So much has been written about bringing abundance into your life, and it seems that most people think that means if they think about it hard enough, it will miraculously appear. But, although it does seem miraculous, it’s interesting how abundance tends to manifest. What I’ve found, when I start concentrating on abundance, is that I suddenly start getting opportunities or good ideas. Most of these entail work, some of them entail very hard work, but all of them are opportunities to bring abundance. I can choose to take those opportunities, with the work and benefits involved, or I can choose to let them pass by. In the latter case, I have only myself to blame if I feel lack.
Another fascinating thing I’ve noticed is that abundance comes in many forms. It may be an abundance of money when I land a good contract. It might be an abundance of fun when I spend a weekend with my best friends. It might be an abundance of beauty when I witness a spectacular sunset, or an abundance of love when my husband cooks me a fabulous meal.
The remarkable thing about this is that if I don’t recognize such things as abundance, I still feel lack in my life. When I do recognize them, I feel like I am a vessel that is being filled to the brim with abundance, beauty, love and energy. The abundance overflows and benefits all who are around me, and the result is more abundance, more energy and more love. It becomes a never-ending flow when I allow it to.
So why would I ever not allow this? Well, when I start to question my own worth, getting involved in ego-centered thoughts (I don’t deserve this, I’ll never be that good, I can’t do that, etc.), the flow slows to a trickle. Then it’s back to affirmations and abundance thinking to bring back the flow.
Humans are such incredible beings!
